World Tourism Day is on the 27th of September, and this year’s World Tourism Day is all about making tourism accessible for everyone! It is about the creation of environments that are accessible for all of us. At some point in our lives, we all benefit from universal accessibility in tourism. Think about families with small children, people with a disability, or the ageing population. Everyone has the right to experience the incredible diversity of our planet and the beauty of the world we live in. Which is why this year, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) wanted to focus on the importance of accessible tourism for all.
How can you help?
Just spread the word on the 27th of September! The UNWTO created a communication kit from which you can choose an email signature, a social media post or a Facebook profile picture, or you apply them all! When posting on social media, don’t forget to use the hashtags #tourism4all and #WTD2016; together we highlight the importance of accessible tourism for all.
