Two of the Bonairean professional windsurfers will be touring in Europe this season attending a variety of competitions organized by the Professional Windsurf Association (PWA) and the European Freestyle windsurf Pro Tour (EFPT). To assist these surfers with their travel expenses the Bonaire Hotel and Tourism Association (BONHATA) is financially supporting them.
Maxime van Gent is ranked #6 in the PWA World Freestyle Ranking 2014 and will be competing for a position in the top 3 in the women freestyle world ranking. Meanwhile Amado Vrieswijk who finished the 2014 tour ranking #4 in the PWA World Freestyle Ranking will be competing in both Freestyle and Slalom discipline. Maxime and Amado are both proud to have BONHATA as their main sponsor this year and will promote the ilovebonaire.com name on their tour.
The sails used during the various competitions will have a custom made ilovebonaire.com sticker on them. The camper they use to tour around Europe for the surf season will be an original “I Love Bonaire” camper with the same stickers, sharing and promoting the love for our island. The website gives the potential Bonaire visitor information and booking opportunities with the BONHATA
members from accommodations to airlines and restaurants to activities. The successes booked by Maxime and Amado will be shared through BONHATA’s Facebook audience all around the world.
“BONHATA is pleased to create such marketing campaign combining more traditional with digital & social media marketing and support these young athletes” says CEO Irene Dingjan. “Our windsurfers are our ambassadors by showing the world their talent, team spirit and promoting all Bonaire has to offer. “
This year BONHATA is celebrating her 35th anniversary, 35 years of being on the forefront of the tourism industry, recognized by national and island government and active member of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA). The membership consists of more than 90 local and international companies; resorts, hotels, apartments, diving and water sports businesses, car rental, restaurants and other tourism-related companies on- and off-island.
