Wednesday 21 February 2018 was an important evening for 6 hardworking women from the housekeeping teams of Den Laman, Sand Dollar and Terramar; they received their well-deserved, official diploma of the accredited housekeeping training that they followed in 2017 with certified trainer Vronie Sieverding. The graduation ceremony took place at The Bonairian Hotel Restaurant Lounge. With a panorama view on the sea, the sunset and Kralendijk, it was the perfect location for the occasion.
Congratulations to Rosa Medina, Pierina Domacasse, Micheline Omulus, Asinta Melaan, and Nadia Dabboussi, who followed the training as a manager together with her employee Maria de los Santos Rosario.
With help from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, the educational material is fully adapted to the conditions and languages spoken here on Bonaire.
BONHATA is happy to that housekeeping staff and employers now realize that housekeeping is not just a job, it is a profession! It is physically hard work of which the demand for quality and speed is high, and poor quality of work immediately results in complaints that are bad for business. With this training, the participants have learned to work with microfiber cloths and learned techniques that provide an efficient, ergonomic and hygienic working method that reduces the body’s workload, lowers the work pressure while the fun of the job increases and the performance improves.
Planning a next training has already started. The housekeeping training is open for every business on Bonaire and BONHATA members get a financial benefit. Besides the Hotel Module, there is also a Basic Module for business premises.
