The month of summer vacations\, sun and palm trees. Read below for an overview of what you can do and see on Bonaire in July. For more information\, please refer to the website or Facebook page of the event organizer.  \nWhat’s going on on Bonaire in July?\n1 July – Cultural event ‘Nos Zjilea’\nIt’s that time of the month again\, Mangazina di Rei organizes their monthly cultural event ‘Nos Zjilea’! The event includes a fusion of local crafts\, plants\, music\, dance\, food and drinks and multiple workshops and demonstrations to attend. \n \n1 July – Taste of Bonaire ‘Talent’ edition\nThis time the Taste of Bonaire is all about talents of the island! \n8 July – Quarterly clean-up dive with Dive Friends Bonaire\nDive Friends Bonaire organizes the quarterly Bonaire Underwater Clean Up Dive. On each Clean Up Dive\, a different area of Bonaire’s coastal reefs or beaches is selected and any trash which has not become part of the reef is collected. We invite and welcome any participants who want to combine vacation with doing the right thing for their reefs! Quarterly cleanups give us the opportunity to focus on the removal of new trash rather than disturbing the flora and fauna that have taken up residence in older trash. \n9 July – Full Moon walk with STINAPA\nSTINAPA invites the Bonairean community to come and join them on a walk on Sunday July 9th  from 6pm to 9pm\, and have some healthy fun under the full moon. Bring your family and friends and let’s make it a fabulous night. The route will be the Lagadishi trail alongside the coast and back. Don’t forget to put on some walking shoes that are comfortable. Bring a flashlight along\, because even if it is full moon you do want to see what’s on the ground right in front of you\, so you don’t hit your toes against rocks or even cacti. Don’t forget to bring your own bottle of water and snacks if necessary. For participation please call 717-8444. There is space for 25 people. \nThe entrance fee is $10 per person. We will see you at the entrance of Washington Slagbaai National Park on Sunday July 9th. \n12 July – Public presentation – Sea turtles of Bonaire\nOrganized by the Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire\, ‘Sea Turtles of Bonaire’ is a free public presentation and will be held at Dive Friends Bonaire’s Yellow Submarine (Kaya Playa Lechi 24) from 8pm till 9pm. The presentation promises to provide everything you wish to know about Bonaire’s endangered sea turtles. Some of the topics that we’ll discuss include where to see sea turtles\, how they live\, what they eat\, how they reproduce and how you can help! \nPhoto: Carol Marzuola\n15 July – PADI Women’s Dive Day\nFor the past two years\, divers from every corner of the globe have come together for PADI Women’s Dive Day to bond over their love of the ocean and a passion for diving. This growing tradition will continue on 15 July 2017\, further strengthening and supporting the female dive community through a day of fun\, adventure and camaraderie. You will be astonished by the diversity of birds we have on Bonaire.\nOn Saturday July 22nd from 4.30-6:00pm there is an opportunity for Birdwatching with STINAPA at the LVV facility (Kaminda Lagoen). This area has a constant supply of fresh water which attracts an abundance of bird species. It’s an excellent opportunity to take photos of birds.\nBring binoculars (if you don’t have any we can provide you a pair)\, drinking water and good walking shoes. Please call 717-8444 to make your reservation. There are no costs involved but donations are always welcome. We will meet at the office building next to the wastewater tanks. \n25 July – Presentation about at CIEE\nOn Tuesday evening\, July 25 from 7-8PM at CIEE \, Kaya Gob. Debrot 26 \, STINAPA will hold a presentation about the website \nThe goal of the presentation is to give the interested public more clarity about the website and the usefulness of entering own observations. Extensive attention will be paid to the functioning of the website\, how to look up species observations and their locations\, as well as entering observations. This way\, we want to challenge the hobbyist to determine observed species. With more registered observations\, the website will give a better impression of the spread of certain species and species diversity\, as well as the size of the population of a particular species. Think about birds\, plants\, insects\, fish\, etc. \nCurrently\, relatively little is known about the population sizes of sharks and rays. Occasionally\, divers will encounter one\, but this knowledge is rarely shared. The same goes for some bird species. Therefore\, it is important that divers and other hobbyists are informed about this website and realize it’s value so they would share their own observations and contribute to research. Everyone is welcome to the presentation on Tuesday July 25 from 7 at CIEE.. \n  URL: CATEGORIES:Outdoor Events ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg: END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
