The Bonaire Culinary Team 2016 arrived home to a warm welcome after completing their competition in Miami for the 2016 Taste of the Caribbean. Local dignitaries, family, friends, fans and a band greeted the team at Flamingo Airport on Sunday evening, June 12.
The team brought home eight medals, including a silver for Caribbean National Team of the Year. Other medals include:

Caribbean Junior Chef of the Year 2016: Silver – Max Maartense*
Caribbean Seafood Chef of the Year 2016: Silver – Sherundly Bernabela*
Caribbean Cheesecake Chef of the Year 2016: Bronze – Sherundly Bernabela

Floris van Loo was this year’s Team Manager. Team coaches were: Liz Rijna – bartender coach (and Caribbean bartender of the year ‘97), Isidoor van Riemsdijk and Han ten Winkel.
