Silver medal Captain Don’s Whisky:
Silver medal Captain Don’s WhiskyCaptain Don’s Whisky is a strange and mysterious whisky, unlike any you’ve ever tried. The whisky is made from corn, rye, and sorghum, which gives it an oddly sweet taste, balanced by the rye’s spice. It is matured in new oak casks, with tobacco leaves added, which also balances the sweetness with a smoky, lingering aftertaste. It’s delicious, and novel enough that any shortcomings are overshadowed by the sheer uniqueness of the flavor profile. It’s the first Caribbean Whisky!
Nose: A bit young, this is not an old whisky. Aged for 2,5 years. Elements of sweet oak and frankly an indescribable complexity
Palate: Smooth, at only 80 proof, it doesn’t have much bite, and none of the oiliness of some scotches. It also somehow avoids all of the harshness in the nose, becoming a delicious summer whisky, while the raw tobacco flavoring gives it enough body to satisfy on a chilly winter day.
Finish: Pure tobacco, similar to a good cigar or pipe. None of the sourness of a cigar, though, and with just enough lingering sweetness.
Gold medal Cadushy Vodka:
Cadushy Vodka is the first Vodka in the world make of Cactus. The Vodka is made from Kadushi cactus and Sorghum, which gives it a Smooth and Gentle taste, with a ‘Spiny’ character. After slow fermentation the vodka is distilled twice in copper pot stills to obtain smoothness and build its special Herbal and Floral character.
Nose: Clear, Fresh with an elegant Herbal aroma accented by a subtle Fruity notes.
Palate: Initially soft with a gentle sweetness that gradually envelops in the mouth, smooth and rounded texture with a hints of Citrus.
Finish: Fresh and Bright throughout with a long and satisfying Finish.
